The government has announced a date extension to the Home Builder Scheme to encourage workflow in the Construction industry and to assist first home builds. Although the date has been extended, the grant amount has been reduced. Read on below for more information.
New builds and substantial renovation contracts signed between January 2021 and 31 March 2021 will now attract a grant of $15,000 towards the construction costs. Construction will need to begin within 6 months of the contract being signed; this timeframe applies to all contracts signed between 4 June 2020 - 31 December 2020, and will be backdated to accommodate contracts signed during the first period.
